Or just my money?

Got an invitation this morning.

• Via evite.
• To a jewelry party.
• At a woman’s home.

I don’t think I know her.

• She didn’t tell me anything personal.
• Except jewelry is on sale.
• Her name is not familiar.

I clicked through to the evite invitation - just in case.

• She had invited more than 700 people.
• To her home!
• I know it’s not big enough to hold all given the address.

The message to me…

• She doesn’t really care if I show or not.
• As long as she makes her numbers.
• (Still don’t know who she is.)

There are tons of people throwing parties like this.

• No way would I attend a party in a stranger’s home.
• I have friends who throw fun events while they sell.
• And department stores to give me a generic experience with strangers.

Would you attend a stranger’s jewelry party?

Makes me think of chapter leaders…how do you make potential members feel you are interested in them - and not just looking for another person to pay dues?
