Give Me a Break!
Just got a final notice from a company.
- They create directories.
- Want to include all my contact information.
- For something I did almost 20 years ago.
Their notice was caught in my spam filter.
- No response meant they could publish my information.
- Given how big this company is, it hit me the wrong way.
- They could write emails that don’t qualify as spam - if they wanted to.
Aside from sneaky tactics, did I really want to be in that directory?
- No. I would be one name in thousands.
- Easy to sell.
- Not so easy for fuzzy memories to find.
Plus we live in a connected world.
- Google me.
- I don’t need an outdated, physical directory.
- I’m sure they’ll make a ton selling those lists!
Feels like a bait and switch scam - with some fancy foot work thrown in.
Makes me thinks of chapter leaders…do you give your members reasons to call your actions sneaky?
