Call for Pilot Testers Now Open
The American National Standards Institute has issued its call for pilot testers for its Certificate Accreditation Program. More details can be found here. If your organization has a certificate program, I urge you to consider applying to participate in this pilot. It's a unique opportunity to have your organization and program assessed against the Standard Practice for Certificate Programs and to achieve a neutral, third-party attestation that your program meets the industry-accepted quality standard and promotes better educated and qualified workers.
Now, don't be concerned if your program does not currently meet all the standard's requirements. Realize this is a pilot test of the accreditation program, and that organizations will be assessed for conformance to the standard but then given reasonable time to come into conformance to achieve accreditation. This is an outstanding quality improvement opportunity for certificate issuers.
Also, I wanted to clarify from yesterday's post that I am not leading the Certificate Accreditation Program (ANSI-CAP) Accreditation Committee and Assessors Rather, I will be leading the TRAINING of the Accreditation Committee and the program's assessors related to the standard! But, thanks to everyone for their congratulations. ;-)
