Brian Chappell makes comparing demographics across social networks easier. The data is not perfect, but at least you can compare apples to apples.

Quantcast is my favorite tool for comparing demographics. Here's Facebook and Twitter and Friendfeed. Unfortunately, LinkedIn seems to have disabled their Quantcast demographics. Boo.
Just Tweet It provides a good list of non-profit leaders to follow on Twitter. You can add yourself to their directory, too.
